Miami is new again! The city has begun to fill with new culture, from Art Basel Miami, new art museums, and the exciting new design district opening in 2015 to the start of downtown Miami’s revival. As I watch Miami building and opening to the world, I am proud to be a part of the excellent creative teams working on L‘ Atelier. It is amongst the last ocean front, luxury residential developments in Miami Beach.

L‘ Atelier provides a luxury living experience in a uniquely designed boutique building set on 130 feet of glorious beach front property. The building rises anew on the grounds of the historic Golden Sands Hotel, central to Miami Beach fame during the Rat Pack days of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin and friends. The location on Collins and 69th allows living privately yet with adjacency only minutes away to the best of social and cultural living Miami has to offer. Living artfully seems to capture the moment as well as this impressive new building… open, yet intimate from a rich past and into a brilliant tomorrow.

This project is exciting for my team as we act as the interior architectural design eye and work closely with the developers in bringing L‘ Atelier to life. Our mission is to reimagine interior spaces, lobby to residence, interior finishing to space flow in concert with the building architecture. So behind the façade of the previous incarnation of the Golden Sands, you will find a new, rich, modern living environment with spectacular panoramic views and luxurious living space.

This is an inspiring project and I’m excited to see it come to life.

Honoring History

L’ Atelier rises once again on the grounds of the historic Golden Sands Hotel. The Golden Sands was central to Miami Beach fame during the Rat Pack days of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin and friends.

Originally named the Bombay Hotel, the Golden Sands Hotel was designed shortly after World War II by Norman M. Giller. Interestingly, this was the first hotel on the Beach to offer a parking garage.

The Golden Sands Hotel boasted many features common to mid-1950s resorts, including a curvilinear lobby with woggles, a pool, shops, a restaurant, and direct beach access.

In honor of this unique history, L’ Atelier merges beautifully the historic façade of the Golden Sands with its modern residential tower and amenities.

Begin each day with sunrises over the ocean. Savor a warm cup of coffee on your expansive balcony as nothing stands between you and your view. Then, venture downstairs for a walk along a quiet stretch of beachfront, free from the hustle and bustle of tourists and traffic.

Just outside the historic front facade, the many treats of Collins Avenue beckon. Sidewalk cafes offer a perfect spot for lunch while exploring fashion boutiques and other shops. Walk across the street to Indian Creek to board your yacht or charter one for the afternoon. Take in a round of golf or a tennis match at nearby country clubs.

Make a quick jaunt to Lincoln Road or Bal Harbour Shops for designer creations. Cap off the evening at one of the fine dining destinations in the area or attend a concert at the nearby New World Symphony.

SMG Management was created out of the partnership between Shamrock Holdings (the investment vehicle of the Roy E. Disney family) and its business partners, Stanley Gold (Chairman of Shamrock) and Meir Srebernik (former CEO of Dankner Investments).
